Swiss train Question
I will be in Davos next april. I want to take the train to the Jungfrau area and I saw on the travel channel a stop or area called the top of europe with the ice sculptres . How would I get there from Davos?
Thanks |
The "Top of Europe" usually refers to the Jungfraujoch trip. I don't know exactly how the train lines work or run, but you would need to get to Interlaken, then to Lauterbrunnen, past Wengen and up to Kleine Scheidegg. From there you go up to the Jungfraujoch.

"the top of europe" is Jungfraujoch. You need to get timetable. Do it on the following Swiss Railway site.
http://www.sbb.ch/en/index.htm Put Davos Platz for dep. and Jungfraujoch as arr. I hope you don't mean to do it as a day trip because it seems to take 7 to 8 hours oneway. |
Thanks,
That is alot longer than I thought! |
Not only is it a long trip time wise, but you change trains a minimum of 5 times!! Your shortest connect time is 6 hours, 50 minutes. Therefore, I think it is not feasible as a day trip.
It is one of those situations where you can't get there from here; you have to go to some other place first. |
Hmm. Better cancel staying in the US as well.

bob_brown,
Hmm. Better cancel staying in the US as well. Please explain? Mike |
Simple, I messed up. Meant to post it elsewhere. Darned if I know how it got to Switzerland.
I want to go and I guess I jumped the track. |
Davos is pretty isolated---it is hard to get there from anywhere.
You can see the train routes and schedules yourself at www.rail.ch Maybe include a stop there before or after Davos? |
Thanks for all the help. I will not have the time to make that sidetrip. It looked like fun.
