Nice to hear from you again otc,
I did this from Montreux to Weggis. I checked my cases at the Montreux train station and went via train and bus; then I picked up my suitcases some hours later at the Weggis station at the dock.
Let me know if I can help further.

Hi again,
Usually the suitcases won't be waiting for you (unless you've spent the day touring en route to Vitznau). When I check my bags, I like to get to the hotel, freshen up, and take an orientation walk around town. During the walk, I swing by the station and pick up the bag. It's a great way to get oriented to the new place hassle-free.
Have a great time!

No more questions, JMW - but I have made a change to itinerary....first 3 nights in Morges, then going to Basel for 2 nights, and then 4 nights Vitznau. My husband's health isn't the best, and he tires easily, so I decided it would be easier on him if we stay in Basel rather than daytrip from Lucerne to Mulhouse for the Schlumpf collection. And I thought staying at the Arabella Sheraton right on the lake in Vitznau will be relaxing, and we can go to Rigi from there, and also to Lucerne. So that's the plan for right now. Hope you enjoy reading this with your morning coffee.

Your plans sound absolutely delightful. I think you'll especially enjoy the contrast between French Morges and Swiss-German Vitznau --- language, food, architecture. I envy you these two places and Basel, which is on my very small list of big cities to visit. J.
