Swiss/Lufthansa
 

Has anyone heard anything else about Swiss being taken over by Lufthansa? We are planning a trip to Switzerland in May 2006, and wanted to fly Swiss. Not sure what changes will be made. We haven't booked tickets yet though.

I've found that it takes a minute or so before the post appears. I don't know if it's a slow server or whatever. ((b))

It will maintain its own identity. But it's shifting its partnership from oneworld to Star Alliance. So, you can earn UA miles but not AA ones, for example.

You even get snacks on Swiss again...included in the airfare price!

Swiss merged with Lufthansa a few months ago, both airlines are maintaining seperate idendities though. I would assume that Swiss will eventually be coordinated with Lufthansa and the Star Alliance code share.

P.S. Swiss is not currently part of the One World Alliance but does code share with American.
