Swiss card question
 

I am planning a trip to Switzerland, and trying to figure out various rail passes. So far we like Swiss card for our specific itinerary (2 long trips and many pricey mountain transport):

* Flying to Geneva and spend a couple of days around the lake (probably base in Lausanne).
* Train to Bernese Oberland for a week, with lots of mountain transport if weather cooperates.
* Train to Ticino (most likely Lugano) for a day or 2 before continueing to Milan and fly home.

Can we actually use the Swiss card for the trip from Interlaken to Lugano? Technically it is supposed for a trip to either airport or board. Obviously I would like to use it for the long trip, and just pay for the trip Lugano --> Milan.

The trip from Geneva airport to Lausanne is only 26 chf, so it's not worth using one journey on the Swiss Card for that trip.

I wouldn't try to gyp the Swiss on your trip to Lugano. If you do this, remember that the half-price function of the card will stop after this trip.

Why not just get the Half Fare Card? It costs 120 chf and will give you half off practically everything that moves for one month -- and you won't have to worry about staying within the rules for your trip.

Sorry to piggy-back on this thread, but I think it's relevant and I hate filling up the forum with duplicate posts...hope it's ok and I don't make anyone mad!

I'm going crazy trying to track down where to get a Half Fare Card for a month only. Do you know where they're available?
