One question that may sound stupid, but wish to get some answers, from pure transportation point of view, is Interlaken a better choice than Grindelwald? Since we will have some excursions that needs to start very early, leaving from Interlaken seems to save some time on those activities.

Grindelwald is about 25 minutes from Interlaken-Ost station - if you had a hotel in Interlaken it could take you 25 minutes to get to the train station but if your day trips are all out on the area then maybe. The Matten pat of Interlaken has some neat views of the distant Alps. But nothing can compare with Grindelwald is awesome things right outside your hotel balcony.

You do have to return to Chamonix to get to Le Buet, that could be an hour and a half train travel. Taxi could be an option.
Thank you for the suggestions. Great, will follow your advice.

Weather in Alps can be very changeable as northern cool winds meet southern warm winds.

Going over the previous posts, re-checking the times, and making notes of them, there might be some questions to come up, to fill in the gaps, and confirm.

@PalenQ thank you for your replies... Weather is unpredictable, so the planing is important, when weather is not ideal. you have a backup at your finger tip.

For Chamonix, not sure yet. Unless both days are raining, will give an attempt to go up to Mont Blanc

For day-2 , could we still do mid station short climbing plus the Nature Reserve walk for bad weather except it's raining? in that case we may look if it's ok in Courmayeur, we could do Val Ferret there if not, Annecy.

Any suggestions?

To complete an option for BO day # 4 itinerary as bellow, may attempt in either weather except rainy, is this doable?

BO Day 4 plan

- Gondolabahn Grindelwald -First (GGF) station at the east end of the main street.
- Take the 6 person gondola all the way to the top station at First passing the stations Bort and Grindal. 8:30 – 8:56 (first is the third stop)
- After taking in the scenery do the Cliff Walk (9:00 – 10:00)
- take the 2 hour walk to Grosse Scheidegg followed by a bus ride back to Grindelwald.
Bus Grosse Scheidegg – Grindelwald 13:23 – 13:55 (11:23 – 12:55)

Second part of the day
Grindelwald – Interlaken Ost 14:19 -14:53
Interlaken Ost- Wilderswill 15:05 – 15:09
Wilderswill – Schynige Platte 15:25 – 16:17
Spend some time on top
Schynige Platte- Wilderswill 17:53 - 18: 45
Wilderswill – Interlaken ost 18:48 – 18:53
Interlaken ost – Grindelwald 19:05- 19:38

How about Harder Kulm? it is convenient to go, compared to Schynige Platte, why it is not as popular here?

Any comments are welcome

Grindelwald - First - Grosse Scheidegg - Grindelwald - -WILDERSWIL - Interlaken - WILDERSWIL - Schynige Platte - WILDERSWIL - Interlaken - WILDERSWIL - Grindelwald.
COMPLETE NONSENSE!
Schynige Platte is just 10 miles from First, along the same mountain slope, at the same altitude.

Grindelwald – Interlaken Ost 14:19 -14:53
Interlaken Ost- Wilderswill 15:05 – 15:09

Well trains from Grindelwald to Interlaken-Ost stop at Wilderswil before Interlaken-Ost.

Building on PalenQ's comments. There is no need to go to Interlaken on this day. Wilderswil is a stop on the BOB train from Grindelwald to Interlaken Ost and Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald

Grindelwald- Wilderswil 14:19-14:47
Grindelwald-Interlaken Ost-Wilderswil 14:19-15:09

Wilderswil-Grindelwald 19:10-19:38
Wilderswil-Interlaken Ost-Wilderswil-Grindelwald 18:48-19:38

For educational purposes only. Strenuous hike, very optimistic times. Some make it an overnight hike. Shows relationship of First and Schynige Platte.

IMO 4 1/2 hrs isn't enough for average hikers. But you are the first to come with this timing.

Thank you all for the input and corrections. It will be doable if taking cogwheel train up is special experience on this spot or going up Harder Kulm.

For BO day #4, would you recommend to take cable car from Meiringen to Planplatten (Alpen Tower), on the second part of the day, instead ? This site was mentioned on the previous post much earlier.
