Swimming in south east france on 1st of nov

Gorgeous weather here on the cote d azur (you would say French Riviera).
21c both in the sea and in the air.
So I swam. So did mostly children.
I do it once every 10 years in average but this year is great. No cloud either.

Waouh! 21C in both air and sea is unusual - glad you had a wonderful time!

We were on the Côte d'Azur in mid-September and had 27°C seawater temperature. But in other years we had been swimming too in the sea until mid-November.

I always write here that Côte d'Azur has some of the most beautiful climate in all Europe (strangely, it is much warmer than in regions of Spain and Italy which are, in fact, more southern).

Enjoy the Côte - and do not let your mood be spoilt by the British food thread!

Thanks traveler.
Great food here. Thanks to my wife.
Yesterday mussels with saint Jacques and ... For main a kind of Mille-feuilles of meat / speck / feta / meat etc. great.
Tonight Tagine - smells delicious. With 'coings' from the garden.
Tarte aux myrtilles and crumble today.

Ah, tagine - we had it in Morocco in May. Went to a cooking school and now cooking it at home, preferably with preserved lemons and olives. But coings sound good (I think "quince" in English).

When we were on the Côte, we often bought fletan. Served it together with cooked cucumbers and poireaux in creme sauce with fines herbes. All cooked on our gas burners in front of our tent.

Sounds good. Next time you are around send a sign. We have a family house in Cavalaire. We are there quite often. Some paradise here.

Now you should go to De Panne and do the same thing.

Jazeker Kerouac !
Keep the grog hot I'll need it.

Time for a pastis here.

I almost jumped in the pool here today, it was so warm! I'm a wuss, so I didn't, but it would have been possible. I had a glass of wine instead:)

good for you, WoinP. Here in Cornwall people swim all year round even at Christmas but really the latest you can do so is the end of October, depending on the weather. This year the autumn was pretty warm so DS was swimming up until about a month ago. You need a hot chocolate afterwards though.
