swimming in France

Have any of you American males felt uncomforable wearing swim trunks versus boxers when swimming in France?

Sorry, can't answer since I'm not of that gender, but you brought back an hilarious time I had years ago hitchiking with a "young" 17 yr old American male who wanted to swim in the Mediterranean Sea.

He was really cheap and didn't want to spend money on regular trunks so he had me go in with him to a men's store and translate to buy a pair of boxers (underwear). Well, he bought the cheapest (hence thinnest) pair and once in the water was too embarassed to come out!! It took him several hours to make the mad dash for the towel. I howled!!

My sons hate most swim trunks due to the "wedgies".

My husband had the most modest bathing suit on when we were on the Cote D'Azur last year-his American swim trucks and I had the most modest suit on for the women - a "tankini". That being said, there was no way he was putting on a Speedo despite it all-we did hear quite a few "americains" whispered behind our backs though!

I stick to my Speedo....wherever,whenever....only thing that varies is which color.....

One of thes days the "boys" are going to figure out that the "wedgies" are what a lot of people are hoping to see!
