What fresh hell is this?
’s Thursday night and London office workers are letting off steam down the pub knowing the weekend is in sight. But instead of chatting over a drink they are smashing ping pong balls over a net.
“I love the atmosphere. You can smash the ball around and nobody cares,” says Dan Wright, an accountant on a work night out. “If you get hit in the face it doesn’t matter. It’s all part of the fun.”

How about some target shooting for Brits who have the urge? Around here we just let it loose, but we're not civilised. I walk out my back door and somebody across the lake feels the need to blast away and put some noise where there was only the sound of birds and frogs.

Something of the sort has been a long-established tradition on Friday and Saturdays in or just outside quite a few pubs up and down the land.

Yes Patrick we had the honour recently of looking down on High Street very late on a Saturday night in Dundee - that's northern London plus a bit. It appeared that the hand eye coordination scores had descended towards 0.00.
It took awhile to declare a winner.

I think ping pong was supposed to be in vogue in NYC a few years go, so I guess London is late to the trend. I think I remember Susan Sarandon opening a ping pong place with a partner (Spin). I don't know if it's still trendy or not.
