Suresnes American Cemetery: Paris

On his trip to Paris President Bush visited the Suresnes American Cemetery and Memorial. It's apparently only 4 miles outside the city and, from the photos, looks like a lovely site with views of the tower and Paris itself.

I'm surprised I've never heard of it. Perhaps it's because it is a WWI site. The 2nd WW sites are more touristed.

But it looks lovely. Have any of you ever been there (or heard of it?)

I plan to go there this October. You can get there by train from Gare St Lazare. Get on the train for VERSAILLES RIVE-DROITE or SAINT CLOUD and get off at the SURESNES MONT-VALERIEN station. I believe it is just a 10 minute walk from there to the cemetery.

Hi Jeanne; I re-post this site every three or four months. Includes all WW1 and WW2 American cemeteries throughout Europe. Dick
