Supplement for ES Trains

We are thinking about buying the Italian Flexipass Saver. We understand we have to pay a supplement to ride on an ES train. Does anyone know how much the supplement costs, and how you go about arranging reservations on these trains?

Hi 4

STOP! Do not buy the pass until you have gone to www.railsaver.com and looked to see if it will save you money.
Be sure to check "only if it saves me money".

If you do have a pass, you will have to purchase a reservation at the train station before you travel. This will cost about 12E.

You can also have your reservations made for you by RailEurope or Euraide. They will charge 12E/reservation + S&H.

Thanks Ira for the info on the supplement. We did check railsaver previously and it indicated that we would save money using the pass.

Hi 4,

Keep in mind the extra cost for supplements. I think railsaver calculated the cost using IC trains.

You can go to www.trenitalia.com and look up the prices traveling on ES* yourself.
