Supermarket near Begur/Costa Brava

Hello,

Does anyone know the name of the larger chain supermarkets in the Costa Brava area, for example, in Italy there are COOPS on the outskirts of a lot of the towns, we are looking for a larger supermarket, to stock up on neccesities....Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The usual ones here in Spain are Alcampo or Carrefour. Not so big, but big enough and more central locations in Catalunya use to be Caprabo (I think they are big enough for tourists necessities..)

Mercadona is another interesting chain, and I prefer it to Caprabo, specially their own-brand products. There is a big one outside Roses, and you can see here their Girona locations :

There is a big Carrefour in Figueras, on the road to Rosas.

I think the village of Begur has more than enough smaller stores to take care of your basic needs, but there are larger markets, in Palafrugell and La Bisbal, which are close to Begur.
