superbreak= super ripoff (beware)

On mar 1, 2009, I booked two rooms for an overnight stay at the Gatwick Hilton for May 6th, 2009 through Superbreak.. Upon arrival on May 6th, I was told I did not have any reservations. The Hilton rep. contacted Superbreak, who told the Hilton people that I had booked dayrooms even though my receipt clearly showed overnight stays! After driving 12 hours this day, turning in my rental car and placing 2 months worth of luggage in front of the Hilton reservation desk, I was forced to pay an additional 130 pounds to Superbreak to get my rooms, again, even though I had a receipt showing I was paid in full, for an overnight stay. After arriving home and contacting Superbreak,
they have basically told me, tough! I have been exchanging e-mails with the company ever since, to no avail

I have used them - and their sister company Golden Rail - in the past with no problems. But nowadays I tend to use Laterooms, Lastminute.com or Activehotels for hotel deals, where you often get latest offers and they are usually cheaper than Superbreak.

If you paid by credit card, can your CC company not help you?

There must be more to this story, what is Superbreaks response to the fact that you say you have a receipt showing payment for overnight stays? I just checked their website and if you select the day only rate, the receipt still calls it "one night" stay, I notice, although the bold type of rate section mentions it as a day rate.

Just a further note, Superbreak sent me another e-mail stating that they were refunding my 130 lbs. They said it was the fault of the VisitLondon site I was on, However I am getting my money back. so they can blame whomever they want!!

Friends & I have used them many times with no problems. But I'm sorry you experienced this misunderstanding, wherever it occurred.
