Sunday - Lunch - Dinner in Paris

My girlfriend and I are arriving in Paris on a Sunday (Nov 12.) We'll get to the hotel in the Latin Qtr around 10AM. Last trip I hit the ground running without jet lag (not a lot of wine on the plane.) I'm hoping that I can do that again. That being said, where's a good place to have lunch and diner on a Sunday? I know that there are a lot of places closed and others may need reservations which I will not have time to make.... So... any suggetions?

Zagat's Paris guide has a listing of restaurants that are open on Sunday.

One of my favorite thingfs to do on Sunday in Paris is to have brunch at the Musée Jacquemart-André followed by a long stroll down to the Champs Elysées and the Grand Palais, or down the Boulevard Haussman to the Opéra area.

I think starting a trip to Paris off with brunch in that elegant ballroom would be great. It's only 25 euros, and the food, though nothing to rave about, is delicious and nicely presented, with lots of good brunch choices. You'll need to get there by 11:00, as it gets pretty crowded after that. Save walking around the museum itself until after brunch.

A wonderful place nearby would be Le Reminet. We love going there for Sunday lunch, then strolling all about the river. Best would be to phone ahead to be assured of a table. But, if you arrive right at noon or for an early dinner you should have no problem getting a table. Or, stop by and reserve a table for dinner, just to be sure.

Also on Sunday only is the bird market just west of Notre Dame at Place Louis Lepine.

If you're in the Latin Quarter, you might want to go to Brasserie Balzar on rue des Ecoles.
