Sunday in Rome - To do & dine

What is the best area (near one of the plazas?) for finding a moderate/inexpensive, but good, informal restaurant/trattoria on a Sunday evening in Rome? Any suggestions for a Sunday afternoon/evening in Rome? Good stroll, etc.? Thanks.

One summer Sunday in Rome my husband and I found a charming restaurant open for lunch. The name was something like il bersaglio or il bersagliere - it was located within a block of a dilapidated villa and park, which had housed Mussolini during the 30s and 40s.

Good afternoon, "MCT"
Would have two for Sunday evening, the first is just off the Corso about three
blocks west of the Pza di Spagna and it is the LA CAPRICCIOSA, largo dei Lombarda, 8, have used this ristorante with the same waiter since 1971...
The second is a bit more touristy and that is tyhe Tre Scalilni, Pza. Navona, 30. ample food. etc.
