Sunday evening in the 6th
 

We'll be in a hotel at CDG around 8p.m. after a flight from Vancouver
via the already infamous Terminal 5.

Although this is a non-Paris trip,
I'd like to take the RER in to the
St. Michel stop and have a light
supper and walk along the Quai.

Any favorite cafes, bistrots nearby
and open on Sunday evening with no
res. required?

Le Balzar, one of the brasseries in the Flo chain, will be open. 49 rue des Ecoles. You can reserve on their web site.

Le Procope, 13 rue de l'Ancienne Comédie, bills itself as the "oldest cafe in Paris".

I've enjoyed eating there, although it is more touristy than my other favorite - Chez Georges in the 1st.

Neat St Michel, on St Andre des Arts, I liked Chez Clement and La Jacobine. You can check the menu of the first on-line. If you stick to places close to the Seine, there are quite a few restaurants on the street running along the river on the left Bank. Le Montebello and Rotisserie du Beaujolais are just east of Notre Dame (back side). If you crossed over to Ile de la Cite, I liked Le Vieux Bistrot, right beside Notre Dame. If you cross over to Ile St Louis, on the main street I've eaten at the Brasserie de L'Ile St Louis, Le Caveau and Reine Blanche (but not recently). There are a few restaurants on the main street on the island.

And, if you are Canadian, the great Canadian Pub is also on the street along Seine, Left bank, just west of St Michel. Say hello to Mark.

you'd best reserve for sunday dinner and many places are closed. for our last three trips, we went to la ardoise. this time we are going to fables de la fontaine in the 7th. others to consider: fish, pramil. good luck

We like Le Reminet , a 5 minute wlk from the St Michel Metro. It is open on Sundays and while it is best to reserve , you might find an opening.

Reserve at Fish. We were there 2 weeks ago and it's excellent!!!

Yes, Anselm, picking up a car at CDG
and heading for a week each in gîtes in Normandy, Brittany, Allier, Provence and Barga in
Northern Tuscany.....staying in places we've never been or just
driven by...tidying up France!
