Summer in Europe with 2 & 6 year old

Aloha,

Since we loved France this year, I'd like to return with my girls for the summer...8 weeks or more... I need some expert advice on itinerary. I'm looking into Italy but would love to add as much as possible yet still relaxing. Take in mind that I would only switch hotels maybe once a week. Maybe $1,000 a week room rate or even condo rental although I like the security of a hotel. I would like to be in the nicer sides of town. Nicer meaning safe and close to the prime spots to tour or stroll. Any game plan ideas?

Hello there!

I remember your trip report from the summer and have just gone back to look at it, as well as Monet and the giant hedgehog!

BTW, stodal seems to be a homeopathic preparation consisting of several remedies. It's a bit of a mix, for example ipecac is for nausea, ant tart for the noisy wheezy breathing, spongia for croup-like coughs, and pulsatilla (runny noses and catarrh) generally is good for children. Usually a homeopath gives one remedy at a time, but these combined ones can be a godsend in a crisis. And obviously it worked for you when you needed it!

France and Italy - you don't say where exactly, both are big countries. I would tend to rent an apartment with children regardless of ages, and you can do that for less than 1,000 dollars a week. There are countless agencies dealingwith this, and if you don't get recommendations, google and search the town you want to go to.

Also decide if you are going to rent a car and drive, or just use public transport.

It seems to me at this stage you need to focus a little more and come up with places you want to go to and stay in, and then you will get a lot more help and advice.

Good luck!

Just make sure you bring plenty of cough syrup with codeine. When the little snappers start getting on your nerves, spoon some cough syrup down their throats. They'll be asleep in no time, and you and your DH can go out on the town.

Hi Mom,

Do you want to switch hotels weekly or no less than weekly?

I would choose either France or Italy. Both are large enough for 8 weeks.

What are your dates? Some places are more mobbed than others in June - Sept.

I haven't picked the dates yet- depends on the new school schedule. Somewhere between June - August. And moving no more than once a week. Or maybe finding one base area.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 04:15 AM.
