Suitcase damaged on flight to Paris - where to replace?

And of course you see luggage places all over in the city. But I'm wondering if the locals have a preferred spot with a good quality/cost balance. What I'm replacing is a soft sided Samsonite, check size, but not one of those monsters you see occasionally. Advice welcome - thanks.

Parisians consider the chain Rayon d'Or to be the most reliable for discounted quality baggage.

kerouac, your years of advice and insights in this group have always been helpful and on point. I went today to the recommended chain's store close to the gare de l'Est, and am fully satisfied with my purchase. Thank you.

Glad I could help. I was afraid that people would try to send you to Galeries Lafayette or Louis Vuitton.
