Suggestions on route for Italy

Traveling from Nice, France via train to where-where to begin? I have 16days, want to go along CT with a stop in Monterosso-Venice(via through Milan then to -Florence(with sides trips for Pisa and Tuscany)-Naples(for Sorrento base for Amalfi Coast) Rome. Ok, flight leaves out of Rome. I have been looking at train site Trentialia and raileurope trying to grasp best routes with fastest trains. Seems this is best route-I have flipped it over and backwards-ha first time across pond and very excited. Suggestions please! THX, d

For this visit, the CT fits better than the AC.

You could train from Nice to Monterosso (about 5 hr via Genoa) or you could overnight in Genoa.

Too many places for 15 nights.
CT fits better than AC.

I would do the trip in this order: Nice - via Milan - Venice,
Venice - Florence,
Florence - CT,
CT - Rome.

If by car, the villages and hilltowns of Tuscany are superior to all I have seen. Cinque Terre then on to Milan is another less touristic, if such exists for us...lol I agree with last post. Fly into Roma, go towards florence with a stop in Pisa, then Florence which is awesome on bike, on to Venezia, with a stop in Sienna maybe and then Milan with a stop in Verona on the way. I have done this trip more than once, so ask away.

I did Venice, trained overnight to Naples, ferried to Capri and then trained to Rome in ten days. I had been to Rome previously so we only spent two days there, three in Venice and five in Capri. I would have liked to spend more time in Venice as three was not enough. Whatever you choose, I would plan a minimum of four days in each city you choose. Maybe Venice, Milan, Florence, Rome. Or Venice, Amalfi, Rome, Florence. If it were me, I would go for three spots only. But hey, I'm getting old.

Also, you don't say if this is your first trip to Italy or not. If it is, you are going to need time in Rome to do it justice. Have fun planning! ;)
