SUGGESTIONS OF RESTAURANTS SPENDING NEW YEAR'S EVE IN PARIS arrondissement 6
 

Hello all. We are spending New Year's Eve in Paris. We are staying at La Perle hotel at a arrondissement 6.
Any suggestions as to restaurants on this area where we can have a nice dinner that night?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There's no need to shout (use all caps).

What constitutes "a nice dinner" for you? The 6ème is full of restaurants, and the best of them have probably already been booked by Parisians for NYE, it being a night when many in Paris book months in advance at their favorite places for a good meal and sometimes entertainment (at a hefty price).

Do you have a particular budget or a particular menu in mind?

I recommend La ferrandaise. I took some US friends there and they liked it. Close (well infront of) to the gardens of gardesn of Luxembourg.

St Cirq. Thank you. No particular menu in mind. Just to enjoy a dinner surrounded by a happy environment. Budget? Maybe about $100 per person. My preference is to use CAPS. Feel free to not respond if you feel uncomfortable about it. But if you feel like it, your suggestions will be appreciated. THANKS!

We recently returned from 3 weeks in Paris where we dined at many excellent restaurants. Our favorite was Divellac - just over the border at the east end of the 7th

We were also in Paris for 2 weeks two years ago, and our favorite was les Climates in the 6th near the Orsay.

Both restaurants are Michelin 1 star restaurants. The latter was a former telephone company building that housed telephone operators.

Perhaps you don't use the Internet often, but all caps is considered rude by many people online.

Holiday meals are often booked far in advance. Ask the concierge at your hotel for recommendations and have him/her make reservations for you. On Christmas Eve some restaurants have only what's called a Réveillon, a special holiday meal at a set price.

I think the idea that all caps is "shouting" or "rude" is dumb. It's a font, get a grip and don't be so delicate. For a headline, that's hardly a problem and makes sense.

Actually, it's not a font. A font would be Times New Roman. Or Helvetica. Or Arial. Fonts do not say shouting--although Comic Sans may say "I think this is a preschool thread..."

And yes, this is a standard worldview certainly among my generation and even more so among Millenials. It is also standard business practice--go check Monster, Indeed or any other job related company or blog with advice on workplace practices. In addition, the OP was being rude to the person who mildly advised her as well.

I find it ironic that it's on a Paris thread this person is posting. I mean, Paris, where longtime posters here have advised it's rude to handle the fruit in a street market, the vendor will select it for you. It's rude not to say Bonjour when entering the shop. But sure, be rude to the people you're asking for advice.

Passive aggressive much?

We had a lovely dinner at Le Christine (Home - Le Christine), which was the surprise of one of our recent Paris trips. It is cozy and the food is wonderful.
