Suggestions of accommodations in Provence?

Traveling to Provence July 5-12. This is our week to relax. Will have a car. Interested in being close enough to Avignon to drive there to take in the festival, so 45 minutes or less? Love Rose wines, town markets. Will take a day trip or four, but relaxing's the thing, so lovely grounds, good food?
Should we do Avignon for two days and then go someplace wonderful? Thanks in advance!

Check out the Gites de France - country houses often in or near village - but one-week minimums I think. Get one close to Avignon maybe and day trip in.

We stayed at Le Mas des Carassins in St Remy. Loved it. It's a quiet retreat away from the town center. You could walk to town, but we were usually going somewhere in the car anyway.
We had dinner most nights at the hotel. Lovely multi-course menus. Highly recommended.
