Suggestions for two night stay near Athens airport?
 

Hi, Greek experts!

We are taking a very last minute trip back to Greece end of July. We have two nights at the end of the trip before flying home, and would like to stay within an hour or two of the airport, but not in Athens.

Any suggestions? We have seen Vouliagmeni and Sounion, so would like to try someplace new.

Right at the airport is the Athens Airport Sofitel.

Less expensive and fairly close: St. Thomas B&B, Peri's Hotel, Pantheon Hotel

With two nights, you want somewhere with something to do. A little more than 2 hrs away, but Nafplio would make a nice finale to your trip.

The port town of Rafina is closer to the airport than Nafplio, only about 30 minutes away by airport bus, so it too would be a good place to spend a couple of quiet, relaxing days.

I thought about Rafina too, and I've stayed at Hotel Avra, which is very nice with views of the port. The town has some good fish tavernas too, and okay beaches nearby. Not sure there is very much to do in Rafina though, but okay if all you want to do is relax. Most people who stay in Rafina are there to catch the ferries.

I would recommend Loutraki, which is about 95 km from the Athens Airport and either the Poseidon Resort hotel or the Club Hotel casino Loutraki.....I tend to like the Poseidon better in combination with a car....

Loutraki Town has a very long beach promenade ideal for people watching, excellent mineral water, and you can visit the Agios Potapios Monastery, the Lake of Vouliagmeni and Heraion + the old lighthouse all 30 min away from the hotel....

Not to forget Posidonia , the opening of Corinth Canal with it's sinking bridge.
