Suggestions for Coastal Spanish town

Looking for suggestions for coastal town. It is for my honeymoon, so want to be able to relax by the beach during the day, but party at night. First time to Europe. Also, hotel rec. Thanks

Which coast? Southern coast? Northern coast?

I was told the southern coast was very nice

Torremolinos is pretty nice, but you don't want to swim in the water in southern Spain, since their sewage is dumped directly in the sea.

On our honeymoon(Luna de miel en Espanol), we stayed at a great little beach resort(don't let that turn you off) area called Javea.
There is an excellent Parador(state-run hotel) there.
We ate like royalty and rented 19 foot motor boats($150 for, like, 4 hours) twice.
The water is beautiful. My wife, fluent in Spanish, said several people asked her how we heard of the place because they didn't remember ever seeing Americans at Javea.
Anyway, the beach is great. If you can get an ocean view room with a balcony (not very expensive) at the Parador then I strongly recommend it.

Formentera is a great beach place if you don't care about much else.

For me, I would LOVE to spend about a month in Cadaques and the surrounding area. Check that out too.

We are early-30's couple, live in NYC, no kids, go to Europe 2x/year and have many suggestions if you still need help.
