Suggestions for accomodations in Dolomites this August
We've got two nights to spend in the Dolomites. I've got this sinking feeling that many places will already be booked. I've struck out once already with Cavalino in Kastelruth. Exact hotel location is flexible. We're on our honeymoon so rationalizing a spendy hotel is easy but prefer to keep it under $150. What's your favorite?

The Cavallino is always full--I think they play games. Do yourself a favor and try these 2 in Castelrotto. The PH Lamm at [email protected] which is comparable, or save some money and stay at the Zum Wolf www.hotelwolf.it All 3 of them are within 50 meters.

We stayed outside of Trento/Cognola at an old restored Villa converted into a hotel, called the Villa Madruzzo. It was up in the hills above Trento, but you definitely need a car to get there. It was quite scenic.

We stayed in Kastelruth at a great B&B. The rooms were immaculate, location two blocks from the center of town, and even a swimming pool in the basement. Prices were reasonable (under $100) and the owners delightful. Here's the web site that you can view everything they have to offer as well as make reservations on line: http://www.garni-silbernagl.com/<BR>The location is perfect for exploring the Dolomites.
