Suggestions for a trip starting in Milan & visiting Lake Como and Parma

Last Septemeber we started our trip in Milan, went outside the airport to the area buses and took a bus to Stresa on Lake
Maggiore, then to Lucca with a daytrip to Pisa, then Siena and
on to Bologna and back to Milan to fly home. The train was our transportation for everything except leaving the airport and going to Stresa. I assume there was also a bus to the Lake
Como area. We were there a few years before and stayed in Varenna while there. Happy travels!!!!!!
