Stuttgart to Paris in 5 days

Hello, I am traveling to Stuttgart because of work (April 1st). But after that I am planning to travel to Paris with my wife without renting a car. We don't speech German and she specks beginner French. Do you have any recommendations? What places/cities could we visit? Should I buy the train tickets in advance? Is it safe to travel by train? Thanks in advance!

You should definitely buy train ticket in advance, and as soon as possible: the Stuttgart-Paris line is often very expensive. Both cities speak English well so you won't have problem of languages.

If you have only 5 days, stick to Paris: the city can fill up your 5 days, or you can do day trips from Paris if you want (Versailles, Chartres, Disneyland,..). You can look at this excellent list of Paris day trips:

(Look for the post of FrenchMystiqueTours in that thread. Nobody beats him.)

Don't worry about the languages, English is so widely spoken these days.

The question is this: Do you want to hurry to Paris and spend your time there, or are you looking for suggestions on where to spend time on your way from St. to P.?

There would by lots and lots of nice places to stay overnight, but is that what you're looking for?

Thanks for the information. This is basically our Honeymoon part 2, so I think to stay in Paris 5 days will be better than sleeping one night in the middle cities and then arrive to Paris and spend only one day. Or what do you think that could be better idea? To visit several cities and spend one night in Paris or travel straight to Paris and visit all the city's interesting places?

Stay in Paris 5 days, by all means. There are tons of pretty sights and interesting things to do. I have been seeing Paris for years and still haven't get enough of it. If you add any 1-night city into the mix, it will become a rushed trip for both cities (5 days is not particularly a lot).

At the moment there are great expo of Vermeer and Rembrandt at the Louvre Museum, it can occupy you for a whole day, if you're interested in art. Otherwise, take a look at the Day trips List link I posted above.
