Stuttgart and vicinity: Apartment hunting...what rental sites would you recommend?

We really need to be near Weinsberg, Germany but realize that we might not be able to find an apartment unless we head to a large city.

Any recommendations or suggestions for apartment sites (or is VRBO the only thing we'll have luck with?)

We are a group of six. If you have any personal experience with a rental, please let me know.

Thanks so much.

There usually are more apartments in smaller towns where Germans tend to vacation. Weinsberg looks more like a residential spot than a vacation destination, but there are a few apartmenst there. The city of Weinsberg website ( www.weinsberg.de , in German) lists a few. Most seem to be for 4 people or fewer, but you might contact the city offices.

Here's one listing there:

But you might do better in neighboring towns that get a lot of visitors. Bad Wimpfen is one such town and has a website with English pages and apartment listings. I would not hesitate to call the town's tourist office and ask questions if you can't find what you want online - they know their town and surely have someone who can help you find what you need in English.

Are you talking about a holiday apartment (for a few days, aweek or so) or longer?

In any case the next bigger city to Weinsberg is Heilbronn - this would be the best place for you to look for an apartment. Weinsberg is on a (very frequently served) tram line S4, 15 min from central Heilbronn

Thank you for the websites and suggetsions.

After I posted, Heilbronn also came to mind. I have been searching the area, but have not yet found something that would accomodate 6 people.

We are trying to plan a family reunion in Weinsberg, with elderly grandparents (who would be staying with family).

I will try making some calls.

Thanks again.
