Studying art in English in venice
I am considering spending two months in Venice. One of the things I want to do is take renaissance art courses in English but all I can find are study programs for undergraduates or masters degrees. Any ideas?

Do you mean hands-on art instruction or classroom lectures in history of art?

Some of the Italian language schools offer art history courses in addition to language study. They are short term and may not be as in-depth as you would like, but they would certainly be an introduction.

That's the best bet as it is fairly common for a language school to have some extra "electives". Or, places that cater to English-speaking tourists may have art workshop classes for painting/sketching itself, but obviously that isn't what the goal is.
This place sounds like it might have something like that http://www.easyitalianlanguage.com/e...ourses-venice/ |
Here's a long shot and maybe not your interest, but Orsoni has both a mosaic school and the furnace where they actually make the smalti (special mosaic glass). The maestra's English is limited but they do have translators and most of it is hands-on/demo anyway. Here's a link to some info about them:

My friend's daughter was an intern at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and they have some classes. Look under 'Training' here:
