Studio apartment in Paris

http://www.guestapartment.com/proper...o/mimosa.html#

Anyone know of this studio, or its leasing company? The place looks perfect, and I saw some good press regarding the company, but would love to have fellow fodorites' input.

Thanks again!

Rented a bigger place from them several years ago. They are flawless.

Take a look at this recent thread about apartments, where the OP has rented from guestapartments for November and a couple of Fodorites talk about their experiences with the agency. http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...fm#dest-header

I know they are well-reviewed here. Their apartments look lovely, and I have a couple on my "possibles" list for the future.

We stayed in this apt. several years ago. It is exactly as the pictures show. Study it carefully. There is a lot packed into a small space. We LOVED the location. It was perfect for the two of us. I can't imagine more people in it (using the sofabed in the living room.) It is very light with river views out corner windows in the living (dining) room. The company is very good and easy to deal with. Any other questions ..... CJ

Thanks so much CJ. There will be two of us, and one will use the sofabed. From the pics where the sofa is made into a bed, it looked like there is still space in that area for table, chairs, etc. Non?

There will be two of us, and one will use the sofabed.

If the two of you are not sharing the sofa/bed, where will the other one sleep?!??

I'm also at the easrly stages of planning, and a studio on IsL was a possibility. Thanks for the info, and Peace, please also give your feedback.

Bardo - In the loft I'm guessing?

lizzie,
Don't know how I missed that! If it was a snake, it would have bitten me!

lizziea06 Sep 28th, 2010 06:19 AM

Hahaha

Yes, this is the best floor plan I have found for two adult friends. My friend is only 5"2', so the loft ceiling won't be a problem for her. And it will give us more space, obviously, than a hotel room.

We rented HIBISCUS from Guest Apt...It was our favorite place in 7 trips. Leely2 said it----they are flawless right from the beginning email to the end of your stay. Say Hi to Phillipe & Tom for us.

There is a table with 2 chairs by the window. We enjoyed the view while eating.. You (she) will need to put the bed up each a.m. in order to negotiate that space. Looks like it will be fine for you. You do know it is a walk up but didn't bother us. Have a great time. CJ

WOW look fabulous. Lucky you(s)!!

PeaceOut Sep 28th, 2010 02:54 PM

Thanks again. That price (190eu) looks reasonable?

nukesafe Sep 28th, 2010 03:15 PM

It looks charming, but wouldn't work for my old legs with no elevator and being on the third (American) floor. Actually, the price sounds a bit high for a studio with a loft bed.

We got a place nearby on the Ile de la Cite for about that price in May of next year. Of course there are four of us, and we want separate bedrooms. If you are interested, here is the link http://www.vrbo.com/171773 Perhaps you will be able to hear the bells of Notre Dame too.

I think it's on the second American floor, but I will double-check. We'll be fine, either way. I think they meet you at move-in and help with luggage, too.

PeaceOut Sep 29th, 2010 06:25 AM

Oops-- it is second French floor. I think that's ok, though. Thanks for noticing.

suze Sep 29th, 2010 07:36 AM

PO~ I'm no expert on prices or even apartments in Paris (lol) I just liked the overall look of the place. Bright & airy. And thought 95 euro per person per night seemed OK for what you were getting (assuming you don't mind the sofa bed or loft sleeping arrangement). I can deal with a few flights of stairs.

PeaceOut Sep 29th, 2010 08:39 AM

I agree, suze. And did you see the entryway to the building-- it has a beautiful wrought iron gated area, and it is directly at the Seine.

IF I can convince my friend to go, we can definitely afford this place. Mainly because I found Mileage Plus R/T tickets for both of us.

Problem is, I need to convince her to take a week off to go. She is reluctant to splurge on herself. Even though we both have a big birthday coming in November. Even though she doesn't have a "job" per se, just lots of family obligations. Even though we have been friends since we were 18. I am still working on her. Waaaaa.
