Student needs some advice...

I am going to be in Italy/Greece for 6 weeks this summer. Anybody know of any cheap hotels/convents/good places to stay in Athens, Rome, Lake Como?

Also, any recommendation on which Greek Island I should spend 4-5 days on? Thanks so much!

Since you're a student I would look at staying in hostels which are much less expensive than hotels. Convents often have curfews of 10:30 or 11:00 so might not be the best thing for a student.

In Rome look at the santa suzanna web site for convent stays.

Best of luck with your search.

For Athens have a look at the Student & Traveller's Inn.

Hi Pat - For hostels in Italy see:

On Lake Como there are hostels at Menaggio and Como.

Hope this helps ...

Be sure to check the thorn tree travel board on the Lonely Planet site. It is a really good source for student travel.

Thanks for your help! I found a nice convent next to the Colisseum at a very good price.
