I just came across my copy of The Wayfarers, and remembered Stu fondly. I hadn't seen this thread before so googled his name. I am so sorry to hear that he had died, although he definitely seemed to live a long, happy and full life. We did exchange a number of emails and he was always so helpful, and polite, I wish I knew more people like him! RIP Stu.

I've been thinking of Stu lately, and particularly on this Veterans Day weekend -- service to country meant so much to him! And he also served THIS community incredibly well -- sharing his delight in travel with encouragement and an unwaveringly kind spirit. He marked trails around the world that many of us followed or crossed. I'd like to think that I also earned something about aging with grace from him.

I know I'm topping an old thread, and hope no one minds the reminder of his generous and gentle ways, and OMG, his love for life!
