Stresa to Malpensa

What is the easiest way to get from Stresa to Malpensa?

We will be booking a flight out at 10:30 am. or a later flight at 12:45.

Thanks.

Rail from Stresa to Milano Centrale takes 1 hr 12(+ or minus a few) minutes. Taxi or express bus from there to Malpensa. There may be other ways that are easier/faster so will top this for you.

Looks like the earliest arrival at Centrale is 6:34 AM.

Texan,

No point backtracking to Milano! Just take a train from Stresa to GALLARATE (30-40 min ride). From there cab or shuttle bus (leaves every 20 min.) to Malpensa - that portion should take less than 30min.

Train schedules at:

Hope this helps,
Andre

Thanks to all,

I appreciate the Gallarate information.
I just knew there had to be a way to avoid going all the way into Milan and then back out to the airport.

This past May we used a shuttle van operated by Comazzi. I e-mailed a week or so before our trip and received a confirmation a day or two later. I also called when we arrived in Stresa to reconfirm. It cost about 8 Euro, directly to the terminal in 50 minutes or so. I beiieve the times are 6:30, 8:30, and 10:30 in the AM.
We had to meet the shuttle at a church near downtown, it was easy to locate. Our hotel told us that there are other services that will pick you up at your hotel but we chose to stick with what we had.
If you know where you are staying, you might check with your hotel for info.

To my knowledge, the Commazzibus is the only direct van service between Stresa (and other points on the Piemonte side of Lake Maggiore) and Malpensa airport. It is preferable and cheaper than the combination rail to Gallarate/taxi to Malpensa option. The service operates daily (on a reservations basis) from mid April to early or mid October.

MK and GAC,

Good to know about the van service! It's certainly more convenient, but can't imagine it's cheaper than the bus/train option, which costs under EUR 10 per person!
