Thanks so much to all for your help & advice - our family vacation planning for Stresa is coming along nicely.

Any restaurant recommendations out there for Stresa? Delicious, modestly priced, relaxing, local & beautiful - easy evening strolls with gelato afterwards sounds perfect. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

A car needed or taxi to got to "Al Rustico" ristorante in Someraro di Stresa.Above Stresa,beautiful view of Lake Maggiore. Very good and reasonable.

I agree--Il Rustico is great, and we also like Papagallo in town.

We liked the Papagallo too. Best pizza made in a brick oven. Check out the bullet holes in the entry door left there by the partigiani (resistance) during WWII.
