Any suggestions for a hotel in Stresa?

Holiday Inn Stresa.

Do you have your heart set on Stesa? I was only there for a few hours, but the harbor area did not appeal to me as much as Locarno or Ascona. Nor did the nearby streets. I'm sure there are those who will set me straight as soon as this is posted. I have heard a lot of good things about the little hotel on Isole Pescatore -- the Verbana/Verbania? Something like that. If you are looking for something grand, then it's back to Stresa's shore for you. J.

Stayed at the Regina Palace, which was very nice, but the road runs next to the Lake, and it was so noisy with traffic at night. We had a beautiful balcony room, but couldn`t open the doors at night because of traffic. You might want to consider that.
