STREET IN PARIS TO BUY BAGS AND PURSES?

I was recently told that there is a street in Paris where one can find lots of shops selling interesting and inexpensive purses and bags. I can't for the life of me recall the name of that street. Would anyone know? We leave tomorrow and since I'm a purse-a-holic, I'd love to find this area!

Rue des Andres in the 6th off rue dauphine is certainly one of these streets. There are tons of boutiques selling purses, bags, clothes and jewellry from many different countries.

I saw many wholesale places on rue du Temple, one block behind Centre Pompidou.

It seemed that every shop on rue de Rivoli had dozens of bags hanging outside.

There are some very nice shops selling bags and purses along rue Cherche-Midi.Look for Karine Dupont , great bags at reasonable price for designer style.

I bought a cute, inexpensive handbag at 334, rue Saint-Honore in 2003. It's not top quality but it's fine. I liked the design, which is quite unusual. I still have it and get lots of compliments.

There were a couple purse stores in Marche St. Germain. It isn't really a street, but an enclosed center. The purses were reasonably priced, very unique designs and lots of variety. Not sure if this is what you are thinking of, but if you like purses and bags and are near there, I think it would be worth a stop. I bought a few as gifts and have never seen anything like them here.

Bonjour Weadles, would that be rue St-André-des-Arts maybe?

Here's a photo of the kind of shop you can find on rue du Temple, but I think a lot of them might be wholesale only:
