Another rave review for Istanbul Eats - we LOVED our Beyoglu tour. Istanbul was one of my all-time favorite eating places in part because there is so much good street food. We particularly enjoyed the kokorec - take OC's suggestions for where to try it. We had a few and the best one (by far) was from a cart with a long line in Fatih.

Turkish ice cream is worth trying once. That's all I will say about that one. I didn't much like Turkish delight either. However the baklava in Istanbul comes in 100s of kinds--not just what we get in the US. When I return in July, there's this place on the way to Topkapi. I know I am going to have tea and baklava there again.

Dear Lauren_s_khan

Would you kindly give me the name of the place and I will look out for it?

Thanks.

Visiting the #GrandBazaar in #Istanbul, one must eat at either Donerci Sahin or Durumcu Mehmet at Mahmutpasa Yokusu sokak. @_AmazingTurkey_

I have booked the "two markets" tour from Istanbul Eats while I am in Turkey next July. During Ramazan (which is most of July 2014) they offer only the "two markets" and Beygolu tours. I might do one of the other tours at the end of the month before I leave after the Ramazan (Turkish word for "Ramadan") period ends.

Can't wait.
