Akelwis, So glad you had a great time and that the Strand Palace was up to scratch. My main beef is with The Regent Palace.

Now tell all your friends to ignore the dollar and come and see us!

Some interesting replies!
Where else would you recommend. We are wanting something in a good position,clean and tidy, nice bathroom and not super expensive.
Please give us some suggestions.

I stayed at the Strand Palace probably 8 years ago, and I don't remember anything shockingly bad about it. I say go for it.
