Stores that sell Knorr products in Munich?

I will be going to Munich soon and want to buy Knorr soup, sauces and other products to bring home. Can anyone suggest a good store there, with a large selection of Knorr products. I was there in 2010 and there was a store with a great selection somewhere between Isator and Marienplatz, near Viktualienmarkt. I haven't been able to locate it or anyplace else.

Wouldn't that be every single supermarket?

StCirq Aug 22nd, 2016 01:50 PM

I don't think I have ever set foot in a superette, supermarket, or hypermarket in Europe that didn't have a full supply of Knorr products.

Spar stores everywhere and I like Edeka. I bring home goulash sauce, sauerbraten mix and white asparagus soup mix from Knorr or Maggi. Love them and twice as much here at the German specialty stores or at the base commissary.

Is this serious ?

Macross Aug 22nd, 2016 02:38 PM

Why couldn't it be whathello. I get those packets of knorr or maggi for under a 1.40 euro and they are 3 plus in my grocery stores here in the states and never have the same stuff as the spar store has. My commissary will carry the items I get in Germany but still twice as much. They take up very little space in your luggage. I know it is a first time poster but as a person who loves goulash and can't capture the flavor I rely on packaged mixes.

I mean are you serious about asking this in a forum ?
Can't you just ask the clerk at your hotel or any supermarket once there ?
Btw if you ask do pronounce the k like we do in Europe : ask for Cnorr products.
Some people are over planning methinks.

EVERY grocery store in Germany has Knorr products.

sparkchaser Aug 23rd, 2016 12:14 AM

Rewe, Edeka, Lidl, etc. will all have it.

Boy, you're tough on a guy asking for help. I'm on a group bus trip. I will only have a few free hours in Munich. My hotel is close to the train station. Obviously, the hotel can tell me where the nearest grocery store is. I haven't found a grocery store in Munich in previous trips that carried all the products I wanted. A very large store might, but I'll only have a few hours and there are other things to I want to do and see as well. Lighten up a little, please. What large store close to the train station, Marienplatz, or Viktualienmarkt would have all or almost all Knorr/Cnorr or Magi products. Thank you.

The big department stores also have grocery stores in the lower levels.

I have found everything in all of these stores. I love the goulash mix the best.

Within the train station, there is a REWE grocery store. They have it.

Whathello: you really need to get yourself onto the Fodorite Lounge.

Macross Aug 26th, 2016 04:08 AM

whathello has tried to give us a good thread or two but someone keeps hitting the dang triangle on him. Why? I though yesterday's topic was polite and wanted to bring up the nuns frolicing in the water in their habits.
ggroneman, hope this helps you out. What product are you trying to find?

MarthaT Aug 26th, 2016 06:40 AM

I knew just where you were talking about, It was a Maggi store on Tal a block from the Isator gate. According to google street view it is now a Little London bar & grill. The street view from 2008 shows the store but now it is a restaurant. In the basement of the dept store on Marienplatz is a grocery store that should have some. Galleria Kaufhauf I think is the name.

OK, in my honest attempt to help you I suggest this:

Somebody above has said "all the stores carry Knorr products" and you have said you think "a very large store might[have all the ones you want]"

So, ask the hotel which you have said "can tell me where..."
to tell you where the largest grocery store which is closest to your hotel is and then go there.

Mow, if you think I am being hard on you I am sorry but saving money is one thing; seeing stuff in Munich is quite another.

Thanks everyone. My wife knows the packages she wants. I was given empty packages to try to find them on the internet and couldn't find some. The empty packages have been misplaced over the last 6 years. She will know them, when she sees them. Since I had the packages at one point and we can't find them, I need to find find a store that has the products she can't remember. Martha T the place you described was where we bought a suitcase full of packages and now we can't find a lot of them. You all have pointed us in the right direction. Thanks again. Dudley1 thanks for the help. We want to see as much of Munich as we can in a short time, understanding very minute shopping is a minute not spent exploring. That was the reason for the over planning. Thanks everyone.
