Stops Between Dubrovnik and Split
I have a group of 38 adults planning to travel by private bus from Dubrovnik to Split in late September. We are planning on at least 8 hours to get there, giving us time to make some stops along the way. I would appreciate any and all suggestions for any side trips or stops. Is it possible to stop at a coastal town and take a ferry to an island and back within a few hours along the way?
Also, we have not reserved the bus yet. Are there any private catamaran or boat services that we may be able to hire instead? The only ferry service I can find between Dubrovnik and Split does not operate on the day we need to travel in September. Thanks in advance for your replies, Reid777 |
Non stop drviving from Dbv to Split lasts 3,5 hour so no time for visiting islands. You can stop in Arboretum, Ston "capitol of oysters",Neum (Bosnia), valey of river Neretva,Vid if you are interested in arheology, Tucepi for swimming and by the magistrel road to Split. About the boat visit site Karaka Dubrovnik and ask for sugestion.brgds Sasa.

Dear Sasa,
Thanks so much for the info. The sunset cruise on the Karaka looks like something perfect for my group and I have already emailed them. Both Tucepi and Markarska look like great places to stop, also. Best regards, Reid777 |
Brela is also a pleasant coastal town, which could be worth considering.
It is smaller and less busy than Makarska, and has easily accessible beaches. |
Looks like we may have to make at least 2 stops along the way!
