Stopping along the way between Avignon and Lyon
 

After spending 5 nights in Provence, we will be driving to Lyon. Any suggestions about where to stop for lunch and where to stop to see any favorite sights?

Montelimar would be a good stop, and is almost mid-way between Avignon and Lyon. If you like nougat, lavender and a little history (check out the Château des Adhémar and the old town centre with it's laneways running of the main rue Pierre-Julien) then this will be a good lunch/sightseeing stop on your way between the two.
