Stockholm Sweden

I have 2 full days to see Stockholm. Any suggestions of things to see and do?
Thanks!

That's a very short visit!

For what I did start here - links to the following posts at the top of the page:

With only 2 days, you will need to be very selective! You might want to take a look at a good guidebook or two and decide what interests you the most.

Two days is indeed very short. Here is what we did in five days: http://stockholm-kathrin-e.travellerspoint.com/ Perhaps you'll find some inspiration. Among my favourites I'd count Vasa museum, the city hall, and Riddarholmen.

We were in Stockholm only two days and I do regret not being able to stay longer. We loved the Vasa Museum as well as the Skansa open air museum. We also enjoyed wandering around the old town, popping in and out of the antique shops and enjoying a good meal.

Spend some time walking around Gamla Stan (the Old Town), visit one of more of the attractions of Djurgården (Vasa Museum, Skansen Open Air Museum, Abba Museum, Gröna Lund Amusement Park), maybe tour the City Hall. If you enjoy modern art, visit Moderna Museet (free admission) and Fotografiska (photography museum, admission charged).

Add Drottingholm Palace by boat.

When I am limited, I think about things that I can't do elsewhere.... when I think about Stockholm, the things that jump out are:

- Vasa museum. This was fascinating and very unique. don't miss

other things we liked:
- City Hall. took the tour (about an hour). neat because it is where the Nobel Prize gala is held. climbed to the top to see the amazing view.

- Gamla Stan (Old Town). We stayed in Gamla Stan and loved wandering.

- Skansen. Easy to spend a day here - lots of interesting exhibits, but if you aren't a history buff, maybe skip this?

- boat ride around the islands. It was pleasant and a way to see the uniqueness of the area.

I would skip:
- Royal Palace. It was a Royal Palace. Nothing particularly unique about this. Given your lack of time, maybe skip this?

good luck!

The Stockholm Cathedral is very old and historic and easy to stop in if you are in Gamla Stan also the Nobel Museum. Very interesting. We stayed in Gamla Stan and glad we did.

The palace is something that I don't think is a "must see" but everyone likes something different.
