Stockholm in January???

I am planning on going to Stockholm at the end of Jan/start of Feb 2005. However I am a bit concerned about the cold temperatures, approx 30 defrees farenheit!! Im looking for advice as to whether I should still go at this time of year, or whther I should postpone the trip, save the money and go later in the year?

Many thanks.

30 degrees! Oh no!

Jeez just go. It's single digits here in Indiana tonight. 30 would feel like a heat wave. :-)

That maybe so - my sympathies! But I do not live in the US - Im from the UK. 30 degrees is colder than here so I need to know whether subjecting myself to these temperatures will be worth it or whether i should wait until summer???

30 degrees is hardly artic - we had 2 last night - with wind chills at 15 below. Just put on a sweater under you coat and you'll be fine - no frostbite!

AJ, I;m from the UK too, and have been to Stockholm in January.

Take your thermals, chunky waterproof boots and a ski jacket if you've got one, and you'll have a great time. I often go to wintry climes in winter (love the snow), and Stockholm is balmy compared to the Arctic Circle and St Petersburg!
