Stockholm hotel, day trip to Uto
 

We'll be making our first trip to Stockholm in mid September and have narrowed the hotel down to the Radisson Blu Waterfront or the Hotel Skepphomen. We hope to do a lot of walking, eating, and visiting various islands or doing tours of the archipelago. Of the 2 hotels, which would have the better location for that? We'll be arriving into Central Station and it looks like the Radisson is within walking distance of the station, but I'm not sure how easy it is to get to Hotel Skepphomen from the station.
Also, is it possible to do a day trip to Sandhamn and another day trip to Uto? Uto looks like a nice place to rent a bike and ride around the island. Sandhamn looks nice for walking/eating/shopping. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Just me and hubby, no kids.

The Radisson Blu Waterfront is right by central station. The Skeppsholmen Hotel is a nicer area and the hotel's website tells you how to get there.

You can always take a taxi.

I wouldn’t choose either location if strolling is a priority. Look in Gamla Stan or along Strandvägen.

To get to the Radisson, all you have to do is go up the escalator closet to the information desk in the center of the main floor of the station and keep going straight at the top and out the station. The main entrance will be on the left. It is a bit away from Gamla Stan but ok if you like you walk so didn't bother us. We stayed here after the ferry from Helsinski so it was convenient to get to.
