Stockholm Accommodations June 2018

Does anyone know of small hotels or B&Bs near the Arlanda airport shuttle dropoff in Stockholm that are less than $115 a night (@ 900 SEK/night)? It needs to be suitable for an older female traveling alone, and include breakfast. I'm looking for one of those gems that only do direct bookings, not through the typical online booking services that charge commissions to owners. Thank you to anyone who has good suggestions!

Yes, they do, but it is hard to find ones not listed on the aggregate sites. Found Hotel Diana in Paris, for example.

Scandic is unlikely to be in the price range the OP wants and the hotels are available on aggregate sites, although why that's an issue is anyone's guess. Midsummer is in June and is one of the most expensive time of the year to go to Scandinavia.

With your budget I would consider the old town. There are a few very cheap (under 900 SEK), small hotels and the old town is very nice. Unless you have a lot of luggage you can walk there from the Arlanda shuttle.

I wouldn't recommend the area around the Arlanda shuttle to anyone. I don't think it's dangerous but it's not pleasant, lots of ugly buildings and full of weird people. And expensive because of the main train station and the shuttle.

The Lord Nelson, aka the "shoebox hotel" in Gamla Stan. Perfectly adequate if you're traveling on your own, great location, not too expensive. Their rooms are more like ship's cabins, but I really like them. Great breakfast.

It's got a sister hotel, the Lady Hamilton (of course)

Slightly larger rooms and a bit more expensive

Their smallest 1 person room is just under 100 euro/night.

We stayed here:

You can walk there or take the subway one stop. Great location. Inexpensive but you might have to share a bathroom. We had two shared bathrooms to ourselves.

yeah, been there once too. Slightly to hostelly to my taste. Lord Nelson feels like a proper hotel and has en suite bathrooms.

I stayed at the Lady Hamilton with my brother, SIL and niece. We all really liked it. Just old and funky (not meaning dirty) vibe, nice people, and I'd stay again.

It was between Christmas and New Years so a very different feeling than summertime.

The room are very small but the location is wonderful
