Still on my Quest , Or Desperately Seeking....

A month or two ago, I asked for some info on the area south of Rome, and north of Naples.
Specifically, the towns of San Felice Circeo,Sperlonga, Gaeta and Formia.
These towns are not represented too well in any American tour books.
I have found some great looking hotels, and have had a couple responses from this forum.
But I am looking for more info from any that have been there.
Christina,
Maybe you know of these areas?
I enjoy your comments to this site, both on beach attire, and on apertifs!
Thank you for any information anyone can provide.
Nancy

There is a series of guidebooks on different areas in Italy, published by a French publishing company. They're set up like the Eyewitness guides, I believe: about the same size, gold and black covers, similar picture + text style. Haven't seen them in the States, and did a couple of cursory searches on the web; they didn't turn up. Suspect if you could find them, they'd have the more detailed info you're looking for. Saw them at Feltrinelli (chain bkstore) in Bologna, where they had books on Bologna specifically, as well as other areas. They looked well written and informative (I didn't buy); maybe someone else can provide info on the name of the series and where you might find them in the US.

I am sorry I can't be of any help; I am planning a long weekend to that area soon but haven't been there yet. The best book I have found is Cadogan Guides Rome and the Heart of Italy by Dana Facaros and Michael Pauls. It has several pages on the area you are asking about. Good luck.
Nancy, I suspect that the only source of information on these areas available in the US is from the "Blue Guide to Southern Italy". I too have seen the guides Helen wrote about in Italy (at Feltrinelli in Rome), but have never seen them here in the States.

To Helen, Santa Chiara and Paul,
Thank you all for your replies to this posting!
Helen,
Thanks for bringing me out of the depths of obscurity by finding this message and replying.
Santa Chiara,
Maybe you could post something when you return from your weekend in that area!
Paul,
We will be in Rome the week before we go to the beach (somewhere in that area), so even if I can't get the book here in States, I can find it over there.
I have written down the name of the store.
Again!
Thank you all.
Nancy
