Hello, just to chime in really agreeing with the general comments about not sweating the small stuff.
Great advantage of West Hampstead (where I live!) is the number of options for getting around - 2 x trains, buses, underground - all of which use Oyster now, but at different costs. However, between now and the end of 2010 there are major disruptions at weekends to some of these services, which makes it harder to plan in advance and can mean that you have to work out more complex routes to get where you want to go - this generally means Oyster makes a lot more sense as hopping on and off is simple and the fare will always be capped.
If you're really going to be out and about every single day then I agree with alanRow's suggestion of what to do. If you're on Twitter, do follow me @WHampstead for any more tips or advice or if suggestions for best place to go for coffee in West Hampstead (hint: It's not Starbucks)

Hi WH and thanks for your response. I was also interested in your other post on loisl's question. I'm going to keep those restaurant names. I'm not on twitter but I'd definitely like to know the best coffeeshop in West Hampstead!
Also, you may know this -- is there a gym (a local YMCA would do) that has an indoor track? My SO will be looking for one preferably near where we'll be staying on West End Lane near Cotleigh.
Thanks
gtg
