Staying in Rue Cler, Paris
My husband and I will be staying at the Hotel Relais-Bosquet in the rue cler district in Paris. Does anyone have any comments about your experience in this area of the city.

This is one of the Fodorite's favorite areas of Paris. Type Rue Cler into the search box at the top of the page and you'll pull up tons of comments on this area.

That area in in the 7e. It is very upscale and quiet. We stay there when we're in Paris. The 6e is trendier with better shopping and the 5e is well, nosier and livelier.

Have stayed there a couple of times at the Hotel Grande Leveque. <BR><BR>It is a very charming, quiet, nice neighbothood. Near the Hotel Invalides, Rodin Museum and wihtin walking distance of the Eifel Tower.<BR><BR>i believe that you will like it a lot.

Gosh...Uncle Sam has been to europe 47 times and he doesn't know it's Eiffel???<BR><BR>And now he will say it's a slip of the fingers while typing.

Nice area. Visit rue Cler for the shops and market during the day. If you are interested in shoes, the shop on rue Cler sells Mephistos for a lot less than you can buy them in the States. Great chocolate shop on rue Cler as well, and there is a really good wine shop. You can pick up all you need for a nice picnic by the Eiffel tower on rue Cler, cheese, bread, wine, chocolate. It is a good area and has lots of good places to eat dinner as well. Enjoy.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Leveque in March this year and found the area nice. There weren't many other tourists around that particular area, that we noticed anyway. I loved the fact it was a local Parisian area and we bought loads of cheap food in the supermarkets! It is a nice area with really good access (walking or metro) to all popular areas.<BR>I wish I was going back soon! I am really missing the tuna and cheese crepes!

Anyone knows what is a website address for Hotel Grande Leveque?
|
It's "Grand Hotel Leveque."<BR><BR>http://www.hotel-leveque.com/

Kristin, I was just there in April; I'll bring up my trip report (Sue survives Paris) for comments on Relais Bosquet and the 7th. I didn't eat at the Cafe du Marché this trip, but have in the past and liked the simplicity of their one-dish meals.
