Staying in Paris' 3rd District?

Hi there,
I've read that the most desirable districts to stay in while in Paris are 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 16th and 17th. Is the 3rd Distrcit ok to stay in? Fiance and I are thinking of renting this apartment for our honeymoon http://www.rentparis.com/details.php?l=en&id=40
Thanks!

It's a perfectly nice area and easy to get anywhere. It's more "real" than some other central arrondissements in the sense that it doesn't tend to have a heavy tourist population. Do visit the Museum of Arts et Metiers; it' s fascinating and has extraordinary exhibits. On Sundays there is a brunch in the café there that's supposed to be good, but you need to buy a ticket to the museum to get in.

The 3rd arrondissement is completely authentic. Part of it is the garment district, but most of it is just residential streets. If I didn't already live in Paris, I would much prefer staying there than the Marais or Saint Germain.

Pippy, do you really want to trudge up 4 flights of stairs after being on your most of the day sightseeing? Not to mention getting your luggage up and down.

Nothing wrong with the 3rd, but I'd look for somplace with an elevator.

Yikes! That should have read "being on your Feet most of the day". Sorry!
