Staying in Hondarribia or San Sebastian?
I am going to Spain in June and will have a car...should I stay in Hondarribia or San Sebastian? Would like to pay ~50-60e a night for one person. I have stayed in agrotoursimos in Italy and b&b's outside of villages in France, so am looking at both inside/outside these towns. Anyone know a great place inside of Hondarribia to stay? Would parking be a problem if I stay in San Sebastian or Hondarribia? I love being outside of town, but being able to walk around town early in the morning or evening is nice, too. Thoughts?

I love San Sebastian--stay there.

I would definately stay in San Sebastian vs Hondarribia for a first trip to this area. Parking in San Sebastian will be a challenge unless you want to pay about 15 euros a day in a public lot.

Thanks for the info!

San Sebastián is unbeatable. I've been very happy staying in quiet and charming Hotel Chomín, 50 metres from the Ondarreta beach and a 20 mins walk along the beautiful La Concha beach promenade to the city center and the bustling Parte vieja/Old town. Close to the charming and small town feel Antiguo district: http://www.pensionchomin.net/
Pensión Bellas Artes and Pension Alemana are two great options at the outskirts of the city center and in the right price range. Bellas Artes: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...e_Country.html Alemana: http://www.hostalalemana.com/ingles/ |
