Staying in Glasgow for a couple months, need flat suggestions!

Hi! I'll be staying in Glasgow for a couple months whens the summer starts to wind down, around mid-August. It'll be my first time in Glasgow, and even Scotland.

I'm currently looking for a flat to stay in, more specifically a serviced flat that's already furnished, with kitchen and whatnot.
I'll be living alone so I don't need a huge flat, just a one bedroom will suit me nicely.

I want to stay in the West End, near Kelvingrove Park and the Glasgow University.
If you have any suggestions for flats or places to stay in the West End please say so!
Any and all help is greatly appericated! Thank you! x

I'm not quite sure what serviced means?

We stayed here: www.queensgateapartments.com/home.php?id=1. Very nicely modernized and comfortable plus a great location. It is a basement apartment, but not too dark. Loved having a fireplace. It's actually in the basement of the house of the couple who own it. She's Scottish, he's American.

They offer 3 other apartments, 2 of them in the West End. I would trust any of them to be very nice.

For a longer rental period like yours, regular holiday lets like the one mimar linked will be very expensive. There are a couple of Glaswegian Fodorites (alihutch and others) who might have ideas re where to look for a 60 day rental.

But we really do need to know your budget.

(serviced is a term used for accommodations that is serviced -- cleaned/etc)

I walk past these almost every day and did so again this morning. You choose the level of servicing required and that reflects in the tariff.

It will depend on your budge, but serviced would seem the way to go.
Janis is right that holiday lets may be an expensive way to go, but regular apartment lets are a minimum of 6 months here.
However someone with a holiday let, or serviced apartment may be prepared to offer discounts for someone who is taking a solid 2 months that would give them 100% occupancy.

Btw, i think that serviced can be be a flexible term covering serviced as a hotel, or just a holiday let type thing.

However will have a think and see what I can come up with....

Perhaps the university housing office would be able to provide some information on summer availability. University housing or folks who rent to students/faculty during the academic term, maybe.
