Stayed at Travel Inn - County Hall?

Stayed at Travel Inn - County Hall?
Hotels seem to be VERY expensive in London. A co-worker suggested the Travel Inn - County Hall near the London Eye. His recommendation is that it was cheap, clean and close to Waterloo station (good transportation). I will be staying there alone for a few days before my husband joins me. Will I feel safe on the street in mid-October? Any other recommendations under $150 (100 pounds)???

I highly recommend it. <BR>The Morgan is near 3 Tube stations, it is close to Covent Garden, Soho, & Oxford Street shopping .<BR>Your rate will include a full cooked- to- order breakfast .<BR>If you do a text search you will find earlier testimonies from other posters as well as from moi.

There has been a good bit of postitive feedback here re this hotel. Dont be affraid to use Priceline. i recently bid with them and booked the Marriott County Hall for under 100 Dollars a night. Just play at it and dont be affraid to bid low. You have plenty of time to learn how it works. you only have to be flexible. Just bid on areas that you are comfortable in. County Hall is in the Westminster area on Priceline (even tho its across the river). Good luck and Happy Bidding.

Ditto Chris' Priceline recommendation. There've been many posts recently about travelers who have gotten great deals in London through PL. Before you try bidding, go to www.biddingfortravel.com, and scroll down to the European hotels section, where you'll find posts of successful bids. Study the site for awhile and you'll learn how to bid. The moderators will even help you construct your bid if you ask. Let us know how it works out!

I have stayed here three times and highly recommend it. Nice sized rooms - huge for London! Nice ameneties like coffee/tea maker and snacks, fun and friendly staff and perfect location. It is my home away from home when I am in London.

Yes, my husband and I (along with 8 of our friends) stayed at the Travel Inn in July 2001.<BR>Out of the 10 of us we had 4 single women. We all enjoyed the Travel Inn- clean rooms-some very spacious, good location and safe area. We would stay there again.<BR>Shadow

I live in London and this is the hotel I always recommend that friends stay at. The location is excellent - the view from the bridge (Parliament on one side, London Eye on the other) is one of the world's best! You are a 5 minute walk across the bridge to Westminster tube and equally close to Waterloo. The walk to Covent Garden is very pleasant, especially if you use the pedestrian bridge. You will be completely safe. My mum had a 2.5 week stay at St.Thomas's Hospital in December which necessitated me having to walk across the bridge every day. Not once did I experience any problems. Just dress like a local, walk fast, keep your head up and no one will bother you!!

we stayed there last june and were pleased with the value. clean, spartan, v well situated - in addition to westminister, you can walk to the tate and globe theatre. there are a handful of restaurants adjacent, including a bagel shop, and a mcdonalds, but no good restaurants to speak of. easy access to several tube lines. enjoy<BR>
